This is the year...

Okay, so I was supposed to write this five months and 15 days ago.  But I did not.  I wasn't ready at the beginning of the new year.  Somehow.

Happy Homemaker Monday

After we returned home from the beach last week I realized that we had traveled home with an unwelcome guest in the form of some kind of nasty cold.  I truly felt like we had just gotten better from the last bug that we passed around, so I was really not ready to do this again.  It was a lot of the same, terrible congestion, horrible cough, extreme fatigue.  I tried to power through.  Saturday evening, I picked up a scented candle and smelled it...  and it smelled like nothing!  I picked up another.  Nothing.  I reached for my purse and covered my hands in sanitizer, once again- nothing.  So yes.  he uninvited guest was not a cold but the dreaded covid.  I'm the only one who tested positive, but I'm fairly certain my youngest daughter has it as well.  The boys seem great, Lacey and Stephen also seem do be doing well.  So here I am, sitting in my bedroom looking for some good new blogs to follow :)  So I thought I would take the time and drop in to one of my favorite linky parties.

A Birthday and a Beach Trip

On May 8, my oldest son turned 13 years old.
Hudson's birthday has always been an awesome event for us.  Not only because his amazing personality shines so brightly and his excitement is beaming on his birthday.  also, because it begins my year of celebration.  All of my babies follow Hudson's birthday in the new year.  Sawyer is June, Lacey is August, and Callista is October.  It's just the beginning of celebrating my kiddos.

Lord of the Rings is a current favorite!  Hudson finished the Hobbit this last schoolyear!

When asked what he wanted for his birthday, he replied with, A trip to the beach!  What a great idea!!!  We had a gift certificate that our church had given us for Pastor appreciation, so we decided this would be a perfect time to use it!
